Family Promise of Greater Wichita is happy to introduce Rachel Morrison, who has recently joined the FPGW team! Rachel will be working with Family Promise during her year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America).

Rachel is currently a student at Wichita State University’s School of Social Work, working to earn her bachelor’s degree. She interviewed with Family Promise for her VISTA position and loved the professionalism and the heart of those she first encountered at FPGW.

In her pursuit of a degree and eventual career in the social work field, Rachel has sought avenues where she could have a practical impact on people’s lives. She believes that she has found a good fit for that at Family Promise. As she has learned more about the FP model and mission, she has seen that Family Promise works directly with families to build solid foundations with tools for a sustainable future. She is thankful to have found a way to help others in such a tangible way.

“I am so excited to have Rachel on our team!” said FPGW Family Advocate Tyra Miles. “She has an eagerness to learn new things, a passion to contribute to the work we do here, and I am excited to see everything the Family Promise team will accomplish with her on board.”

As a busy student and VISTA, Rachel enjoys every moment of spare time that she can get to spend with her family, friends, and loved ones. She lights up when talking about being an aunt to her nieces and nephews and how much she loves spending time with them. She enjoys spending time with her cats and family animals and stopping for coffee at some of her favorite local spots, including Sojourners and Il Primo.

Welcome to the FPGW family, Rachel!
