Family Promise of Greater Wichita is excited to welcome Norma Mitchell as the newest member of the FPGW Board of Directors!

Norma is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector. She is a Wichita State University graduate and has worked with the American Red Cross since 2003, where she currently serves as the Senior Manager for National Sponsor Marketing Operations.

Norma began volunteering with Family Promise last year as Co-Chair of the Gala Committee, helping organize, plan, and host FPGW’s most successful fundraising event ever. She is excited to join the FPGW Board as Secretary and serve in a new way while continuing to help lead the Gala Committee.

“I have always been driven by a simple saying – “Be the reason someone smiles today.” A smile goes a long way, and I truly believe that’s what Family Promise offers our guests – a smile, respect, love, and hope when they need it most.”

Norma’s passion for serving others, paired with her attention to detail and high energy have been a tremendous asset to the organization already and the entire FPGW team is excited for her to step into her new role.

FPGW Board President Dixie Harris is looking forward to working more closely with Norma. “With Norma’s attention to detail and experience working with Family Promise teams, she has hit the ground running and is doing a great job and I am excited to see where she takes us!”

Norma and her husband, Jeff, are the proud fur parents of three adorable spoiled pups – Doodle, Skye and Panda. They enjoy “pup-ventures” around town on the weekends, usually followed by a quick stop for ice cream. As a native Kansan, Norma is proud to call Wichita home and excited to help our community thrive.

Welcome, Norma!
