Family Promise of Greater Wichita has been pleased to welcome Clemente Bobadilla-Reyes to its Board of Directors this year!

As a local Banking executive with a passion for giving back, Clemente is excited to be able to bring his perspective to the Board in order to help ensure that everyone at Family Promise is as successful as possible.

A graduate of West High and Friends University, Clemente found himself as a natural fit for a career in the banking industry. While he jokes that, “I think I really just like wearing a suit,” he has found that, despite his own uncertainties, he enjoys various aspects of managerial roles, including the fact that his career is tied to helping people and that he gets to lead others by putting himself in their shoes.

A self-proclaimed “introvert with social skills,” Clemente was first introduced to the work of Family Promise through attending the annual Gala with his previous employer. Soon after, he organized a Christmas gift drive at his bank branch, fulfilling the wishes of families and children and getting more engaged with the work of FPGW.

“My idea of homelessness was stereotypical, and I never thought it was different. Families are all so different. This gave me a whole new respect and appreciation for that. I remember on the Christmas present requests – one mom was asking for a sensory toy for her child that had autism. No parent should have to worry about those things. Kids should be able to be kids.”

Interested in continuing to support families, Clemente continued to organize opportunities for his bank community to be involved in giving back. When delivering backpacks stuffed with supplies last year, he asked if he could take a step back into the office area to see the “Cake Wall” that he loved so much. His clear understanding of what every picture represented was a clear statement that Clemente could be a valuable and passionate partner as a member of the Board team.

We are so pleased with what Clemente brings to the board. Along with his banking and financial experience, he brings a new energy and fresh perspective to our board function,” said FPGW Board President Connor Cross.

Clemente currently serves as a Market Financial Center Manager/Officer with Bank of America and enjoys what he does. He loves bringing his day-to-day expertise and life experience to the table at Family Promise.

“My favorite part is that I know more about this issue and that I can tell people about it who might be in the same spot as me, who are thinking of this in a stereotypical way. What I want to accomplish as a Board member is to show my community that there are resources out there.”

Outside of work and the FPGW board room, Clemente loves spending time with his wife and their two girls. He is outnumbered by girls 4:1 in his house if you count his dog! His family loves to spend time outside and Clemente’s favorite place for walks is at the Great Plains Nature Center.

Welcome to the Family Promise Board, Clemente. We are excited to have you on this team!
