We have had some moments of unspeakable joy, and a few moments of “How in the world did we get here?”

It has been an exciting and growing year. YOU — guests, volunteers, congregations staff, board, and donors — have been inspiring teammates and wonderful extended family to work with each day.

We are all in this together. For the hope of new life and transformation for our guest families, as well as for ourselves.

For the graduate who looked around the room full of caring volunteers this spring and said, “These are the healthiest relationships I’ve ever had.”

For the dad in our program who recently said, “I’m here for my daughter. No one else would help us.”

This is why we exist — because every child deserves a home. For families who are out of options. For families who want to move forward and partner together with us and create their own new lives.

From our 2017 data:

The Wichita school district continues to serve more than 2000 students in homeless circumstances each year. We continue to receive calls for help from families in need.

So next, we are setting a course to open our Second Rotation before the cold of winter sets in.

Won’t you join us?

We need 4 more Host Congregations to sign on, volunteers to join expansion teams, and the funding to keep it all moving ahead.

It will take $75,000 to fund this expansion and ensure our needs for staff, space, and supplies are covered.

Can you join us with a gift of any amount? Please mail or donate online by August 15 to empower twice as many families to change their stories!

Thank you for being in this together as a family.

With gratitude,

Katy Penner, Interim Director/Board Communications Team Chair
