In case you missed our Annual Shareholders’ Meeting last week, we’ll be sharing a few updates here on the blog to keep you informed.

2018 was a fun and exciting year! We pulled together as a community to work through transition, built more local partnerships, and families are succeeding.

How do we know that families are succeeding?

  1. 20 families were empowered in our program (see below).
  2. Graduates return to volunteer and continue the cycle of giving!

The Official Statistics

We spent significant effort on refining our internal processes, tracking our data even more efficiently, and we restructured our staff — volunteers now take on many office administrative tasks so that the staff can focus directly on guest families.

In 2018, we also hired our new Executive Director, Stacia Thompson, and our Case Manager Dawn Epp. Stacy Sherwood has been added this year. Adam Monaghan continues to assist with part-time administrative responsibilities from his new home out of state.

Host/Support Congregation Impact

Congregations played a huge role in 2018, of course. More than 40 local communities of faith joined hands to provide overnight lodging, meals, friendship, and transportation.

The chart below shows the estimated in-kind value of services provided — these are funds we don’t have to raise because YOU provide these in-kind gifts!

For the purpose of this chart, Support Congregations are included with the Host Congregations they are paired with.

In-kind value per person served is calculated at: bed night $35, meal day $17, service hour $10.

WOW! A value of $641,160 contributed via congregations!

We really can’t say thank you enough! YOU are a Shareholder if you contributed time, supplies, energy, prayers, or funding to this effort.

It is an honor to partner with you and with families to work miracles and changes stories together each day.

Soon we’ll be sharing some dreams for 2019 and beyond.
