Family Promise of Greater Wichita is thrilled to announce Cecelia Long as the newest member of the FPGW team! Cecelia joins us as the Volunteer Coordinator on staff, bringing years of experience in nonprofit and human services work, where she has dedicated her career to helping people and building strong community connections. Her ability to bring people together and create opportunities for positive change makes her an incredible fit for our mission.

Cecelia’s background includes  more than a decade in leadership in programs that provide housing for people in need, support students facing life challenges, and organize large teams of volunteers to make a difference in their communities. She’s known for her leadership, creativity, and passion for serving others, and we’re confident that her experience will help make our vast volunteer engagement even more powerful.

“Cecelia has a natural talent for building meaningful connections and making people feel welcomed and valued. Her thoughtful, holistic approach to volunteerism and family support will be a tremendous asset in this role. I’m excited for our FPGW community to partner with her in this important work.”

– Beth Schafers, FPGW Director of Development and Community Engagement

Since moving to Wichita from Illinois earlier this year, Cecelia has embraced her new community, enjoying local eateries and board game spots while getting to know the area. She is excited to connect with our incredible network of volunteers and community partners, finding ways to strengthen the bonds that make this work possible and help families overcome challenges and find community and stability.

Please join us in welcoming Cecelia to the Family Promise family—we can’t wait to see all the ways she’ll help make a difference in creating bright futures for children and families in our community!
