We are thrilled to welcome Aabel Owens as the newest Case Manager at Family Promise of Greater Wichita! 

Aabel joins the FPGW team, bringing with her almost a decade of case management  experience in the Wichita community. She has worked with people from all walks of life and has seen them face all kinds of circumstances, challenges, and opportunities. Aabel is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those she meets and has a heart for making sure that everyone has a support system so that they can find success and stability.

“I feel like this is what I’m called to do.”

A short time after attending Wichita State University, Aabel started her journey in the Social Services field and has used her own life experiences and her passionate ability to empathize with people to find her place in this community. Her deep understanding that every person’s situation is different, paired with her ability to imagine a day in someone else’s shoes has perfectly suited her to be effective in her work.

Aabel is excited to join the mission of Family Promise of Greater Wichita. She loves the way that the FP model equips and empowers each family to find success on their own efforts, but with a steady support system in place. She believes that it is incredibly important to have strong support as each family faces a difficult and long journey and feels passionately that “Everyone needs someone to say, ‘Hey, you can do it.’”

Born and raised in Wichita, Aabel has watched the city grow around her. When she has flexible time, she loves to continue her fitness journey!
