Every Saturday is a work day!!
From now until we open, every Saturday morning will be a work day at the Day House. Come join the fun from 8:30-11:30am!
With a great crowd of volunteers, last week we removed carpet, taped for painters, painted furniture, trimmed trees, pulled weeds, cleaned gutters, and a whole lot more.
We are again grateful to Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church for the use of this space, to everyone sacrificing time and skills and funds, and for the great blessing this house will be (very soon!) to families who need a home base while they get back on their feet.
Because of all of you, kids will go to school regularly from a consistent location. Parents can send them in CLEAN clothes. Moms with small children can care for them in a safe space. Parents can apply for jobs with a home address and learn new skills. Because of us as a community coming together, we get to walk with families in crisis and help them find a way out.
This matters. When we all bring what we have to give, amazing things happen.
More jobs are being added and changed as skilled workers come in and donate time throughout the week, so please come ready and willing to help wherever needed.
You are welcome to bring tools if you have them, and we will list specific projects on facebook when we know more.
