We’re proud to announce a major milestone for our team and our mission: Cecelia Long has been promoted to the new role of Director of Programs at Family Promise of Greater Wichita! 🎉
As our organization continues to grow, so does the need for experienced, thoughtful leadership to guide our work with families. Over the past several years, we’ve expanded not just in the number of families we serve, but in the depth of services we provide. The creation of this new role is a direct response to that growth – and Cecelia is the ideal person to lead us forward.
Before joining Family Promise, Cecelia spent more than a decade working in program development, direct service, and community engagement across nonprofit and higher education sectors. From launching student success coaching programs and managing rapid rehousing efforts, to directing workforce training programs and overseeing crisis response initiatives, her career has been rooted in empowering people and strengthening communities.
Since joining FPGW in 2024 as our Community Engagement Coordinator, Cecelia has brought calm leadership, a steady presence, and an unshakable commitment to dignity and empowerment. She’s supported volunteers, connected with congregational partners, led events, spearheaded the growth of educational programming, and built meaningful relationships with families navigating housing instability.
Now, as Director of Programs, Cecelia will lead our growing program team – ensuring that our services remain values-driven, effective, and deeply human as they scale. She’ll provide strategic oversight of our shelter, prevention, and stabilization programs while supporting staff who walk daily alongside the families we serve.
“In her short time with us, Cecelia has already made such a meaningful impact. She brings deep care for our families and a strong commitment to our mission. I’m so grateful she chose to share her energy and gifts with Family Promise – and I’m excited for all that’s ahead as we keep growing together.” – Dawn Epp, FPGW Executive Director
Cecelia’s experience, academic background, and history of building impactful partnerships make her uniquely suited for this role. Perhaps most importantly, she brings a quiet confidence, a deep belief in people, and the ability to create systems that honor both dignity and outcomes.
This is a significant step forward – not only for Cecelia, but for Family Promise of Greater Wichita as we continue to grow in both size and impact. Please join us in celebrating Cecelia’s promotion and the bright future ahead for our programs, our teams, and the families we serve.
