We are pleased to announce that Tyra Miles has recently joined the Family Promise of Greater Wichita team as full time Case Manager!

Tyra was raised in the Wichita area and attended Wichita State University, where she earned her degree before becoming a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor.  After a traumatic experience early in her adulthood, she knew she was lucky to be alive and made a promise to God to spend her life serving others. She has spent her career doing just that – previously serving the community with the Wichita Children’s Home, Harbor House, and the Center for Combating Human Trafficking.

Tyra is excited about her new role at FPGW and has loved gaining a deeper understanding of the Family Promise model, especially learning more about our 3 areas of focus (prevention, shelter, and stabilization) and seeing how efficiently Family Promise engages our network of volunteers.

She is passionate about what she does and loves that she gets to go to work and make a difference every day. She wishes that everyone could have the opportunity to make a living helping others.

Tyra is married to Richey and has 2 daughters (ages 3 and 2), 1 dog, and 1 cat. She loves to craft and has a passion for art. She also loves to travel with her family and document their adventures on her travel blog. She has attended Riverlawn Christian Church most of her life. She has fond and impactful memories of youth group mission trips and her church is still a huge part of her life.

From FPGW Executive Director, Dawn Epp: “We are so excited to have Tyra join our team. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and many years of experience serving individuals in our community.  On top of that, she fits right into the culture of our organization. We are excited to hit the ground running in 2021 with Tyra in this role.”
