Dear Family Promise Partners,

We are very pleased to announce that, after serving as Interim Executive Director, Dawn Epp has accepted the permanent position of Executive Director for Family Promise of Greater Wichita!

Dawn has served as the Case Manager for FPGW since June 2018, but she has been connected to the organization as a volunteer since its beginnings in Wichita. She previously served as the Coordinator for Hope Mennonite Church, a member of the Church Recruitment Team, and then as a mentor for graduates.

Dawn received her Accounting degree from Pittsburg State University before moving to Wichita to work for Cessna Aircraft Company. She also spent part of her career at Koch Industries.

After stepping back from the corporate world to raise her two sons, Dawn began volunteering at St. Anthony Family Shelter. There, she learned that family homelessness is prevalent in Wichita and that navigating out of homelessness is not an easy task.

Working alongside the wonderful staff at St. Anthony as the Volunteer Coordinator and Case Manager Assistant gave her invaluable knowledge and experience and helped her realize that she would like to work in this field as a career. It was there that she found her passion and love for families facing homelessness.

While serving as Case Manager at Family Promise, Dawn witnessed firsthand the resilience and resourcefulness of families. “The most important thing to me was making sure that the families I served felt respected and heard. It was so rewarding to celebrate with them as they accomplished their goals.”

Dawn’s past experience, paired with her passion for what she does, makes her a great fit for her new role and has the entire FPGW team excited for what the future holds for our organization and for families in our community.

“The work that we all accomplish together at Family Promise amazes me daily. Not just the staff, but the volunteers, donors, and our Board of Directors. I feel so blessed to be a part of this organization and I appreciate the path that has been paved for me. Serving the families that come through our program and getting to do life alongside them inspires me every day.”

Dawn is married to Greg Epp and they have two boys – Alex, a Civil Engineer major and baseball player at William Jewell College, and Isaac, a junior at Maize South High School, who is also on the baseball team. The only other girl in her family is their dog, Charlie.
