We are very pleased to welcome Jeanette Mericle to our staff as Program Coordinator! In this role, she manages the administration of daily details in the office and helps us all stay connected with great communication.

Jeanette brings extensive experience in business and care for people to her work, and we are excited to have her skills and passion on the Family Promise team.

Jeanette earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Wichita State University, with an emphasis in Accounting. She previously worked in the Accounting field for 15 years, until she began homeschooling her son and pursuing a Master’s Degree in Christian Spiritual Formation and Leadership from Friends University, graduating in May 2019.

Jeanette has volunteered with The Salvation Army and Fresh Hope Mentoring program. She is also a member of Newspring Church, where she is a volunteer guest services group member, a couple’s lifeteam leader, and a women’s lifeteam leader.

She grew up in Wellington, KS and has lived in Wichita for the past 13 years. She and her husband have a blended family of 5 kids and 1 granddaughter.

Jeanette enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to read, organize, and decorate. “My favorite thing to do is find a quaint local coffee shop, where I can enjoy conversation with other women, for encouragement, mentoring or simply fellowship.”

About joining Family Promise, Jeanette says, “I feel as though becoming a part of the Family Promise program is the next right thing in my life. My passion for the homeless has grown in recent years, and I have felt driven to be more of an advocate for the marginalized. I would think to myself, ‘I can’t possibly or single-handedly reach out and help everyone in need, but collectively I could make an impact by joining with others who already have the platform to reach out. ‘ I feel that I have found a way to use my skills and abilities to in turn help Family Promise make a difference one family at a time. I am so thankful for this opportunity, to live out the gospel beyond the four walls of my church and home.”

Welcome Jeanette, and thank you for living out the mission with us!

Family Promise of Greater Wichita unites hearts and hands to provide compassionate hospitality and empower homeless families with children to achieve sustainable independence. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
