We are very pleased to welcome Raven as our VISTA staff member. She is helping us develop our Graduate Support Program and expand our impact in the community. Her position at Family Promise is funded by a grant from the Kansas Health Foundation.
VISTAs (Volunteers in Service to America) serve with organizations who are working to help people move out of poverty. Raven will be with us for one year in this role, and we’re looking forward to all we can accomplish together in this time.
Raven was born in Fort Riley and raised in Shawnee, Kansas. She recently graduated from Wichita State with a Bachelors in Social Work, and is currently pursing a Masters in Social Work also at WSU.
Raven’s dream is to start a non-profit that provides an alternative living environment for youth that have been in a Juvenile Detention Center. We agree this is a great need and would be a welcome resource!
Raven says, “I am excited to start working with Family Promise. I feel as if the staff, volunteers, and board members have welcomed me with open arms; they are here to show me the ropes in what it takes to run an amazing organization. I am looking forward to learning about grant writing, along with developing a new program.”
Welcome to the team, Raven!
Family Promise of Greater Wichita unites hearts and hands to provide compassionate hospitality and empower homeless families with children to achieve sustainable independence. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
