We’ve been promising BIG NEWS and here it is: please help us welcome our new Executive Director, Stacia Thompson!

Our Board and Staff are very pleased to announce that Stacia has joined us to provide leadership as we grow together. The Director is a crucial role in daily operations and our movement into the future, as we make strides towards our Second Rotation Expansion.

Stacia brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in social services and community needs, and we are privileged to have her talents and heart directed to our mission to empower more families in Greater Wichita.

Most recently she worked at COMCARE as the Program Manager of the Sedgwick County Community Crisis Center. She also held COMCARE positions of Crisis and Outpatient Therapist, Program Manager of Outpatient Services, Program Manager of Centralized Intake and Assessment, and Coordinator of the Community Assessment Program for Seniors.

Stacia earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in social work from Wichita State University. She has previously worked at Rainbows United, Via Christi HOPE, and Catholic Charities St. Anthony Family Shelter.

She has served on the WSU Practicum Advisory Council, Sedgwick County Hoarding Coalition, and Catholic Charities Disaster Response Team.

Stacia Grew up in El Dorado, KS and has lived in Wichita for the past 19 years. She and her husband, Lance, have two grown sons, Conner and Brock.

She has been involved with Marriage for Keeps, the Lead for Change program through the Kansas Leadership Center, and has volunteered with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Boy Scouts of America, and the Wichita Children’s Home. She is also a member of GracePoint Church, a current Support Congregation and one of the Host Congregations committed to our Second Rotation expansion!

Stacia enjoys spending time with family, friends, and two sweet rescue dogs, Gus and Olive. She loves to read, shop for just about anything, organize, and decorate.

“I feel incredibly blessed to have this opportunity to be involved with the Family Promise program,” Stacia says. “I consider it a privilege to help others, particularly those in crisis, and find it humbling when others trust me enough to share their story and walk alongside them as they take steps toward change. I’m excited about all of the things Family Promise of Greater Wichita has accomplished in a relatively short amount of time, and I’m looking forward to seeing how much more we can achieve together in the years to come!”

Welcome Stacia!
