We passed a BIG milestone last week.
Two graduates attended a meeting to plan for our Second Rotation expansion.
All this time, we’ve been talking about the value that everyone has a voice at the table, that we need the input of all our audiences as we develop our program.
Since we’ve been in operation for some time, we now have our very own resident experts.
We’ve tried to imagine the situations of the guests we serve, as we walk with them in life. We enter into their lives as much as we can. But the only people who can truly say what a homeless crisis is like are those who have lived it.
And we are honored that they share their stories, and that some are entering back into our story as an organization.
The two moms who attended had ideas to contribute and are passionate about expanding our services and caring for more people. Our graduates can also encourage future guests, to tell them the work is worth the journey to independence.
The power of a helpee becoming a helper is a part of the human experience that I hope you get to see for yourself. These are the voices we need to learn from.
What a gift.
