Keeping Our Promise
Keeping Our Promise is an ambitious campaign to create a physical environment and deepen our services in ways that reflect the respect, care, and opportunity every family deserves.
“Family Promise was such a great experience for my family. There are many programs out there to serve the homeless, but I haven’t seen one that addresses all the issues like they do.”

With the success of the Keeping Our Promise campaign, we will make thoughtful, trauma-informed improvements to ensure that our building lives out our mission from welcoming families with dignity to supporting the dedicated team who walks with them every step of the way.
With capital renovations and an on-site expansion, we will:
- Remodel our family shelter wing to offer greater privacy, comfort, and dignity.
- Improve staff workspaces to allow for program growth and increase retention and wellbeing.
- Construct a new addition that will house:
- Program support for families across all core programs
- Community space for graduations, celebrations, events, and trainings
- A flexible gathering area for collaborative meetings and partner engagement
-
Transform our outdoor areas into intentional spaces that reinforce social-emotional growth, trauma recovery, and a sense of normalcy through therapeutic programming, developmental play for young children, family bonding activities, and outdoor life skills classes.
-
Create a space that reflects our values of dignity, empowerment, and belonging—welcoming families, partners, and volunteers alike.
Over the next three years, our campaign will fuel significant program growth in response to rising needs. We will scale staffing and services to:
- Serve more families across Emergency Services, Shelter, and Stabilization Programs
- Launch innovative housing initiatives addressing the lack of safe, affordable housing
- Expand access to family-centered care, including mental health support, financial coaching, and more
- Deepen engagement with families through ongoing case management, community connection, and resource access
Our whole-family, whole-person approach will continue to provide the compassionate, individualized support families need to thrive.
To sustain our mission for the long haul, we will build strong reserves that allow us to:
- Weather unexpected economic shifts
- Invest in program innovation
- Support families with short-term needs (transportation, childcare, job tools)
- Maintain facility and staffing strength without disruption
A healthy reserve ensures that we never have to compromise care for the families who rely on us—no matter what the future holds.

FAQs
How do major capital improvements help Family Promise serve MORE families?
Scalable Impact
- Increased capacity to serve more families: By expanding case management space, our
capacity will grow significantly, enabling FPGW to serve hundreds more families each year. - Faster family transitions: Increased operational and housing support will reduce time spent in
shelter and accelerate transitions to permanent housing. - Additional outreach programs: New spaces will support programs that directly impact
children’s well-being—such as tutoring and enrichment activities—while also offering parents
workforce development and life skills workshops.
Operational Growth
- Infrastructure to support program expansion: With more case managers, development staff,
operational team members, and community volunteers, Family Promise can scale services
without compromising quality or outcomes. - Enhanced community visibility and partnership opportunities: A more functional and
welcoming space will strengthen Family Promise’s visibility, attracting new donors and
partners to build awareness of the mission and address relational poverty for families.
